Elf King
Thirs Trap Thurs

#ThirstTrapThurs One – 17th Dec 2020

What’s the last book you read that completely surprised you? For me, it was Deal with the Elf King by Elise Kova.

Happy #thirsttrapthursday folks! This post is going to be half #bookreview and half character appreciation for #thirsttrapthurs. Let’s start with the later shall we?

Reasons why I think Human Queen Luella and Elvish King Eldas are badass characters who deserve all the love they can get:

🌹 They’re both resilient and practical. Luella does not mope on the face of betrayals and stands up to help herself. Eldas knows how to rise to the occasion and do what needs to be done.

🌹 They’re always looking for ways to make things better even if it comes at great personal cost. Luella loves her people and wants to give back to the community that helped her with her education, even if it means leaving them. Eldas wants to be a fair and just King to Midscape, even if it means staying alone.

🌹 They are strong, hard mind and a vulnerable heart afraid to catch feelings. 🥺😭 Luella is afraid to love because it often stands in the way of balance. Eldas, poor baby, has been isolated all his life and thus, is afraid to hope. But we know what happens when characters say NEVER in a romance yeah? 😜😭🔥🎉

I loved loved and I mean LOVED this book! The storytelling was top notch, the world building exquisite and the characters realistic and beyond brilliant. A fantastic merger of marriage-of-convenience, beauty and the beast trope with Hades-and-Persephone feels, I devoted it in a single setting and will now be going back through the authors entire list.

If you haven’t read this yet, do yourself a favor and and pick it up NOW! It’s available on Kindle Unlimited.

Rating: 5 magical 🌟
