Random Rollicks: Zwei

Tolkien decreed “not all those who wander are lost.” But can some things be lost never having wandered at all? Things like human yearning, which tend to switch direction, settle somewhere attainable. Containable… We settle for like, and in some cases hate, because we can’t find love. Settle to walk when we want to fly. To have for we long to hold…What hurts the most, though? The losing of things we hold dear, or never having found them? The knots of loss and longing are so intimately tied together, they often appear inseparable. Maybe because they’re cosmically destined to be so. Why else would we insist on loving the things we lose while we lose the things we love?

The quest for more can both, make or break if it makes you forget what you are give. Do you agree?
