Follies

I have often wondered why, for an organ that never sees the light of the day, the human heart is so susceptible to external follies.

But then, can the rain be stopped from being absorbed into the ground? Does a flower remain unmoved to a sharp gust of wind? Is a tree not susceptible to the fire by lightning, does the moon not burn with the sun?

Perhaps it is the nature of all things light and visible to be pulled by the dark and veiled.
